You are looking at the fumbling beginnings of a new site, created by Gerald in early 2003.

It is my first attempt at creating a site, from scratch and no cheating, using a wonderful book called "The Complete Idiot's Guide to Creating a Web Page". Started at page 1 and away we went, through the mysteries of the dreaded HTML, the technicality of setting up a space on an ISP's server, and finally the excitement of uploading the files and viewing them via a dial up connection.

The catalyst for this was a project Sue has been working on for a couple of years, trying to track down a family portrait that has disappeared over the horizon. We always felt that one way to track it might be to use the power of the web.
